The vision of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Tufts University is to promote integrative research, education, and entrepreneurship at the forefront of biomedical science and engineering.

The mission of the Biomedical Engineering Department is to advance the field of biomedical engineering through an interdisciplinary approach to education, design, and research.

At the undergraduate level, the Department offers a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering, a second major in biomedical engineering for engineering students, and a second major in biomedical sciences for liberal arts students.

At the graduate level, the Department offers Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy programs in biomedical engineering, as well as a Master of Engineering and a Master of Science in bioengineering, and a certificate program in bioengineering.
