Bruce Panilaitis
Research Assistant
Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering
Education
2001 Ph.D., Tufts University
1994, B.A. Colby College
Honors and Awards
- Graduate Research Fellowship (Tufts University)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship (Tufts University)
Research Interests
Dr. Panilaitis’ research focuses on the interface between the mammalian immune
system and biomaterials. This has led to work in vaccine and drug delivery, as
well as characterizing the innate and acquired immune response initiated by
various biomaterials. In addition, his group utilizes molecular biology,
microbiology, and chemical engineering to modify and tailor biomaterials to
better understand their relationship with the immune response.
