Angelo Sassaroli
Research Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering
Education
1996 Bachelor, University of Florence, Florence, Italy
2002 Ph.D., University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan
Honors and Awards
- STA Fellowship from Japan Science & Technology Corporation
Research Interests
Dr. Sassaroli's primary areas of interest include imaging
of biological tissues with near Infrared spectroscopy and
diffuse tomography for biomedical diagnosis and functional
studies. Specifically he is interested in both theoretical
and practical aspects of brain and breast imaging with near
infrared light. He is interested in developing new methods
of analysis of photon migrations in biological tissues,
including analytical and statistical models.
Biography
Angelo Sassaroli received his Ph.D. degree from The
University of Electrocommunication, Tokyo, Japan in 2002.
He has worked at Tufts University, first as a research associate
(2002-2007), and later as a research assistant professor
(2007-current).
