Tacoma Narrows Suspension Bridge
The Tacoma Narrows bridge was originally a bridge across
Puget Sound in Washington State. However, after just 4
months the bridge spectacularly collapsed in a windstorm.
Our model of the bridge incorporates changeable decks, one
of which will deform in a similar way to the original Tacoma
Narrows bridge, and another which demonstrates the improved
deck design that prevents the bridge from collapsing again.
