Geohazards Engineering Research at Tufts currently addresses the hazard associated with earthquakes and landslides. We use statistical methods to evaluate data from these hazards, build predictive models, and characterize relevant parameters. One focus area of our research is to characterize the spatial variability of geologic materials and then quantify the effect of that variability on the regional geohazard.
