PhD Research Assistant

A research opportunity is available for a highly motivated and creative individual with a strong interest in natural hazard evaluation. Our research primarily addresses the hazard associated with earthquakes, and landslides. We use statistical methods to evaluate data from these hazards, build predictive models, and characterize relevant parameters. Current projects include landslide hazard mapping, probabilistic seismic hazard methods, and evaluation of the effect of near surface soils on regional wave propagation. Strong statistical background is a plus, GIS and remote sensing experience is also beneficial. Research is funded through grants from the United States Geologic Survey and the National Science Foundation. See more about our research at our website: http://engineering.tufts.edu/cee/geohazards/default.asp.
