Research Fellow of the Royal Norwegian Council for Scientific and Industrial
Research (on sabbatical leave from Tufts University). Activities included research
on submarine slope stability, design of foundation for ocean structures, and
visits to other centers of geotechnical activity in Northern Europe. Specific

Research on rainfall induced landslides, in
association with the International Center for Geohazards
at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, January-June
2003, August 2004, and presently. Developed method for
modeling the pore pressure response during rainstorms of
partially saturated soils. Modeled field case studies to
show the reduction of slope stability with the loss of
soil suction .

Continued landslide research in association with the
International Center for Geohazards. Research on
three-dimensional numerical analysis of suction anchor
foundations and monopole foundations for offshore wind
turbines.
