Bonnie A. Lyon Marion
2012 Ph.D., Environmental Sciences & Engineering, University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC
Honors and Awards
Lyon's research interests include: fate & transport of emerging environmental contaminants, natural & engineered water treatment processes, water quality, and environmental analytical chemistry.
Lyon is a member of the Environmental Sustainability Research Group and the Integrated Multiphase Environmental Systems Laboratory. Her Ph.D. research focused on the formation of disinfection byproducts during combined UV-chlorine/chloramine drinking water treatment. Her past research has included monitoring techniques for predicting disinfection byproduct formation, toxicity of water contaminant mixtures, and advanced oxidation processes. Her current research investigates the impacts of surface coating aging on the fate and transport of engineered nanomaterials through porous media and techniques for enhancing nanomaterial mobility.
