C. Andrew Ramsburg
Associate Professor
Education
2002 Ph.D. (Environmental Engineering), Georgia Institute of Technology
1999 M.S. Environmental Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
1997 B. Chemical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
Research Interests
- Emulsion-based delivery solutes and reactive particles employed in
subsurface remediation
- Fate and transport of emerging contaminants in the natural and
engineered environment
- Technology innovation for assessment and remediation of dense nonaqueous
phase liquid (DNAPL) source zones
- Flow, transport, and exchange processes in multiphase porous media
Prof. Ramsburg is a member of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering
(EWRE) and Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental (GGE) research groups within CEE
and is the director and a principal investigator in the
Integrated
Multiphase Environmental Systems Laboratory (IMPES). The IMPES lab is a
highly collaborative setting where laboratory experiments and mathematical
models are combined to elucidate and explore processes which influence the
persistence of contaminants and control the effectiveness of remediation in the
subsurface environment.
