Seven ChBE students receive Academic Awards
At the Tufts University award ceremony in April, several ChBE students were recognized for their hard work and their contributions to Tufts.
Stephanie Alimena received the Frederick Melvin Ellis Prize, awarded to students who have demonstrated marked athletic versatility, a modest manner, successful academic achievement, and the potential for effective leadership of youth.
Maria Choi received the Audrey Butvay Gruss Science Award, for a female student who has demonstrated outstanding academic work in any of the sciences.
Douglas Davis received the Lt. Commander Robert James Manning Memorial Prize, awarded to students who are industrious, competent, and enthusiastic and who show the same commitment to excellence that Manning demonstrated throughout his life.
Yangming (Tim) Kou received Charles F Seymour Jr Award, given to a junior with an interest in musical theater.
Tyler Lueck received the Alex Elias Memorial Prize Scholarship, presented to juniors or seniors who best display those high standards in community activities and in athletic and scholarly pursuits for which Alex Elias was well known.
Sylvia Lustig received The Karno Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership, awarded to two sophomores (from each school) who have shown great promise in their academics and demonstrated leadership on or off campus.
Andrew Rosen received the Class of 1947 Victor Prather Prize, awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence in scientific research, enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge, and a dedication to scholarly achievement.
