Short Bio

Nurdan Ozkucur received a B.Sc. in Biology from Ege University and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in anatomy, cell biology, and tissue engineering from the Technische Universität Dresden, where she worked in the Funk Lab. Before joining the Tufts Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr. Ozkucur was a postdoctoral fellow in the Levin Lab, affiliated with the Tufts Biology Department, and in the Kaplan Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prior to her time at Tufts, she was a short-term fellow in the Zhao Lab at the University of California-Davis Institute for Regenerative Cures, and in the Okamura Lab at the Osaka University Department of Physiology. Her postdoctoral research was in the areas of tissue regeneration, cancer, electrotaxis, endogenous voltage sensing, developmental neurobiology, and a 3D in vitro model of brain development.
