Vandervelde elected OSA technical group chair

Associate Professor Tom Vandervelde has been elected chair of the Optics for Energy Technical Group for the Optical Society of America (OSA).

Tom Vandervelde, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was recently elected chair of the Optics for Energy Technical Group for the Optical Society of America (OSA). Founded in 1916, the OSA is the leading professional association in optics and photonics, home to accomplished science, engineering, and business leaders from all over the world.

Vandervelde's three-year term as chair of the Optics for Energy Technical Group begins in January 2017.
