Souvaine named chair of the National Science Board

Professor Diane Souvaine has been elected chair of the governing body of the National Science Foundation.

The Department of Computer Science and the School of Engineering are pleased to announce that Professor Diane Souvaine has been elected chair of the National Science Board, the governing body of the National Science Foundation. The National Science Board (NSB) acts as an independent advisor to both the President of the United States and Congress on policies related to science and engineering, and also education in those disciplines.The NSB and the National Science Foundation’s director jointly head the NSF.

Souvaine will continue to fulfill her academic responsibilities at Tufts during her two-year tenure as the NSB chair. The department looks forward to her insights into the politics of science.
