Remembering Monte Haymon

Monte Haymon, Tufts alumnus, former Tufts trustee, and Board of Advisors member, passed away this year.

The Tufts community is remembering the life and work of Monte Haymon, E59, J83P, J85P, who passed away on May 5, 2018. 

Haymon received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, attended Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, and became the president and CEO of the Packaging Corporation of America in the 1980s. He served on the Tufts Board of Trustees for ten years and was the chair of the School of Engineering's Board of Advisors for eleven years.

Haymon and his wife Jane, A60, J83P, J85P, established the Monte and Jane Haymon Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in 2006 to assist Tufts undergraduate students with financial need, helped fund undergraduate term scholarships and graduate fellowships, supported Tufts Hillel, and were challenge donors for Tufts' Giving Tuesday campaign in 2015.
