Biography: 

John Heffernan is a part-time lecturer at the Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach, and the technology and enrichment teacher for pre-K through sixth grade students at the Anne T. Dunphy School in Williamsburg, Massachusetts. Previously, he worked as an educational technology consultant for the Collaborative for Educational Services, as a principal software engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation, and taught third grade. In 2016, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The award recognizes outstanding K-12 science and mathematics teachers from across the country.
