Touhid Ahamed
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Nonlinear Magnetoelasticity and Electroelasticity, Modeling of Soft Materials

Touhid received his undergraduate degree from the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology in Bangladesh in 2008 and worked as a university lecturer for 5 years. In the fall of 2013 he arrived at Tufts where he currently works towards his MS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Research Interests
During his time at Tufts, Touhid has developed a broad field of interests in structural engineering, nonlinear solid mechanics and biological and mathematical sciences. While his curiosity in structural engineering developed over many years, his interest in continuum mechanical and modeling developed during the last 6 months. Specifically, Touhid is interested in mathematical and numerical formulations to model the mechanical response of nonlinear elastic materials capable of large deformations. Of special interest is the inelastic response to account of the changes in material properties.
