Grant Garven

Grant Garven is the founding North American editor of the journal Geofluids and served as an associate editor of the American Journal of Science from 1990 to 2015. He was also the recipient of a U.S. Presidential Young Investigator award, and was honored with the O.E. Meinzer Award from the Geological Society of America. He has taught various courses in groundwater hydrology at the advanced undergraduate and graduate level, and has mentored numerous graduate students. At Tufts, he teaches hydrology courses that deal with the geological and geochemical aspects of groundwater flow, subsurface fluid dynamics, groundwater modeling, and field methods related in hydrogeology.
Grant Garven is a groundwater geologist who uses mathematical models to understand hydrologic, thermal, chemical, and mechanical processes in the Earth's crust. Ore deposits, petroleum reservoirs, helium migration, hydrothermal venets, and diagenetic fluids have all been the objects of his research.
