Shuchin Aeron, assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named lead guest editor of a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging. Published in June 2017, the special issue covers computational imaging for Earth sciences, which has had a revolutionary impact on the field, impacting application domains and bringing new modalities into common use. Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Eric Miller was a fellow guest editor on the issue, alongside four colleagues from other institutions.

This achievement highlights Tufts faculty members' longstanding expertise in the area of imaging and image formation, which extends back to Tufts Physics Professor Alan Cormack’s Nobel Prize in 1979 and continues to this day in the work of faculty like Aeron and Professors Misha Kilmer and Todd Quinto in mathematics.
