Aeron becomes journal editor

Associate Professor Shuchin Aeron has been named associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing (TGRS).

The journal IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing (TGRS) has named Shuchin Aeron to its editorial board as an associate editor. Aeron is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Computer Science. His research interests include statistical signal processing, information theory and more.​

TGRS is a leading journal in the sensing field, highlighting science and engineering theory and technical advancement in sensing land, oceans, space, and more. As an associate editor, Aeron will be focusing on seismic data process and underground imaging, among other categories. He is succeeding Professor Eric Miller, who served in the same post from 2003 to 2016. 

According to Thomson Reuters, TGRS was ranked highly in a number of categories in 2016, including placing fourth out of 84 publications in the area of Geochemistry and Geophysics and twentieth out of 262 publications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
