Professor Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos is honored by BUCT.

During a recent visit to Beijing to attend the biennial Sino-U.S. Joint Conference of Chemical Engineers (SUCE 2017), Professor Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos, the Robert and Marcy Haber Endowed Professor in Energy Sustainability, was a plenary speaker at the International Green Chemical Engineering Summit (IGCES), organized by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).

On October 19, she visited BUCT, where she was awarded the title of Honorary Professor in a ceremony attended by school administrators, faculty, and students. This is the highest distinction offered to foreign academics.

In her acceptance speech, she discussed ways to expand collaborations and closer interaction with colleagues and students at Tufts and BUCT.
