A new building for Computer Science and a new T stop for Tufts.
A snowy building

The department expects Tufts to break ground on the Cummings building, the future home of the department, this summer with completion anticipated sometime in 2021.

The seven-story building, which will be shared with several other academic departments and centers, will have classrooms ranging from very large to seminar-sized, plenty of collaborative space, and will enable the entire CS department faculty to have office and lab space in the same building. More updates will be provided as they become available.

The Cummings building should be completed at about the same time as the new T station, part of the Green Line Extension project (known informally as the “GLX” by local residents).
