Professor Miller nominated to Sigma Xi

Eric Miller, Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been nominated for Full Membership in Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. Sigma Xi is the world’s largest honor society for scientists and engineers. Members are distinguished for their scholarly achievements and contributions to the advancement of mathematical and statistical sciences.

He served as the Associate Dean for Research in the School of Engineering from 2009 – 2012. He is now a Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a role he has held since 2012. His research interests include physics-based tomographic image formation and object characterization, inverse problems and scattering, regularization, statistical signal and image processing, and computational physical modeling. He also holds adjunct appointments in the Departments of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering.

As a Full Member of Sigma Xi, he will join an international, multidisciplinary community of science and engineering professionals dedicated to research excellence, promoting public engagement with science, and fostering the next generation of researchers.
