The 2021 MITRE Collegiate Embedded Capture the Flag Competition took place virtually this spring from January through April. The annual competition puts teams through the experience of creating a secure system on an embedded device and then learning from the mistakes in their system. The two phases of the competition include system design and attacking the systems of other teams.

The Mingions, named in honor of advisor Associate Teaching Professor Ming Chow, placed 7th in the competition and were honored with the Best Documentation Award. The award recognized the group for submitting design documentation that best described the implementation details and use of the system.

The team included Alex Zsikla, E22, Ann Marie Burke, A22, Ben London, E21, Chris Markus, E20 and EG21, Immy Eads, E22, Jack Cyprus, A22, Liana Wang, E22, and Omar Badr, A21.

Tufts participates in the competition each year, and won awards in 2016 and 2018 in addition to this year.
