Certificate in Computer Engineering

The program leading to certificate in computer engineering is jointly administered between the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Department of Computer Science.

The certificate requires 15 semester-unit hours (SHUs) and all courses must be at the 100 level or above.

At least five lecture-based courses must be taken from a published list of computer engineering core courses. From these core courses, at least one course must be taken from each of the following three core areas:

  1. Computer Networking
  2. Computer Architecture
  3. Computer Software/Systems

Both bridge course (e.g. EE 200 and EE 201) may count as one of the five computer engineering core courses.
