Weather Closure Procedures

The safety of our community is a top priority.

If a Tufts University campus closes due to snow, it will be announced via the below channels.

If necessary, any additional details about the status of the School of Engineering will be posted on the current page.

For information about preparing for winter storms, please visit the Public Safety website: http://emergency.tufts.edu

Academics
If campus is closed or has a delayed opening, faculty members may choose to move in-person classes on-line and notify students about this in time to meet. Should there be a change in modality, students will hear directly from their instructor.

Campus Center

Counseling and Mental Health
When the campus is closed, our building will be closed, and CMHS staff will be working and holding appointments remotely. If you have an in person appointment scheduled, you can change it to a virtual appointment or reschedule it for another day.

Dining Services
When the University closes, Tufts Dining maintains essential services for students on meal plans who reside on the Medford/Somerville campus. Carmichael and Dewick-MacPhie Dining Centers remain open during weather emergencies, and are available for students on meal plans, or students who wish to purchase a meal using JumboCash or Cash.

Beacon Street Residents can use their Rhinobucks at these accepting locations during a campus closure.

Please check the Dining App and/or Dining Services' Facebook page for up-to-date information about which centers will remain open and which services will be available.

Health Services
When the campus is closed, students in need of medical advice should call (617) 627-3350 to talk to the on-call provider. Students calling with a non-urgent routine matter that can wait until the next business day are encouraged to call back during operating hours or send a message through the patient portal: http://go.tufts.edu/portal.
