Bridge Models: Zakim Bridge

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge was built as part of the Big Dig Project in Boston, and is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world. It is named after Lenny Zakim, who was known for "building bridges" across Boston's ethnic communities. This model contains a baseboard, two piers, and 18 deck sections. The knot used on the cables is called the tautline hitch.
