Join us for the Dean's Lecture, given by Bin Lin.
The lecture will take place on October 26, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Science and Engineering Complex, Robinson Hall, Room 253.
Bin Lin is co-founder and president of Xiaomi, one of the fastest growing start-ups in China. Before founding Xiaomi with Lei Jun in 2010, he was engineering director at Google from 2006-2010. Prior to Google, he worked at Microsoft as a software engineer, engineering manager, and director from 1995-2006.
During the lecture, Lin will share his experience and learnings on what has made Xiaomi China's digital lifestyle leader in just seven years. He will cover lessons learned, from product innovation to software development models to internet marketing to e-commerce and offline retailing.
The talk will also address how new technologies like AI, data mining, machine learning, and the Internet of Things may impact our lives in the near future. Some lessons may be unique to China's fast-growing economy, but others will be applicable to countries all over the world.
