Academic Advising
Students enrolled in an Engineering degree program have three members on their Advising Team: a Pre-Major/Major Advisor, a Senior Academic Advisor, and an Advising Dean. The Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Computer Science departments have additional advising staff members within their departments.
Accommodations
Tufts University provides reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities such as impaired hearing, speech, mobility, or vision and students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder. Assistance is also provided to students coping with serious illnesses. The Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center and the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs are our central resources for fostering an inclusive and safe community for all students.

Assistive Technologies
If a student is approved for technology accommodations, the Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center can provide various assistive technologies to help them access your course material. Some technologies require that the student get training with the StAAR Assistive Technology specialist before they are loaned equipment for one semester.
Combined Degree Program
The School of Engineering offers exceptional Tufts undergraduate students the option of pursuing a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree (BS/MS) as a thesis or non-thesis program. Students may enroll full-time or part-time while participating in the master’s degree portion of the combined degree program, but must enroll immediately after completion of their BS degree. No deferrals are available for this program.

Guides to Alternative Majors, Minors, and Courses
The School of Engineering offers a number of degree programs and courses that weave together disciplines from our network of schools. Students have the opportunity to combine their engineering expertise with fields such as architecture, economics, nutrition, and music. Non-engineering students also have the ability to take select engineering classes to broaden their skillset for the future.

Tufts Study Abroad Programs
Approximately 40% of juniors (and occasionally seniors) at Tufts choose to study abroad for a semester or year, in destinations around the globe. Many students find study abroad to be a truly transformative experience, enabling them to build skills in all areas of their lives and helping them understand themselves and the world in new ways. Tufts University is proud to have offered study abroad programs to undergraduate students for over five decades. Students may also choose from hundreds of approved programs run by external (non-Tufts) providers.
