Non-Discrimination Policy

The Tufts Non-Discrimination Policy establishes uniform guidelines in order to promote a work and educational environment at Tufts University that is free of discrimination and harassment and to affirm the University's commitment to equal opportunity and affirmative action. This policy applies to faculty, staff and applicants for employment, students, and third parties (including visitors, patients and community members).

Bias Education and Resource Team (BERT)

The BERT focuses on community understanding, education, support, and engagement and differs from other University processes concerning reporting, investigating, adjudicating, and/or sanctioning incidents, including violations of Tufts' Non-Discrimination Policy and/or hate crimes. Members of the BERT will convene as soon as possible after a report of an incident of bias. They will develop and recommend educational programming and resources for the community in collaboration with other offices; and, if determined appropriate, develop dialogue or healing spaces.
