Office of Undergraduate Admissions

The collective energy of the Tufts community stems from the mix of people on campus. Jumbos come from a range of backgrounds and bring diverse talents, interests, and perspectives to the table. It almost makes more sense to talk about "diversities" rather than "diversity." At Tufts, we also recognize how important it is for students to be able to connect with peers who share their experiences and identities through affinity organizations and gathering spaces.

Our Division of Student Diversity and Inclusion includes our eight identity-based resource centers. The Africana Center, Asian American Center, Center for STEM Diversity, FIRST Resource Center, Indigenous Center, Latinx Center, LGBT Center, and Women’s Center are physical spaces for socializing and club meetings, but also provide sources of comfort and belonging for underrepresented students at Tufts.

Bridge to Engineering Success at Tufts (BEST)

In conjunction with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Tufts School of Engineering, the Center for STEM Diversity administers a six-week summer bridge program for incoming engineering students. The Bridge to Engineering Success at Tufts (BEST) program is designed to give selected students an opportunity to take two Tufts courses for credit while participating in academic and college life workshops that help first-year students make the transition from high school to college.

Resources for Undocumented Students

Tufts’ core values include a commitment to access and inclusion. Therefore, Tufts welcomes all undergraduate applicants regardless of citizenship status. Undocumented students, with or without Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), who apply to Tufts are treated identically to any other U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Tufts is also committed to providing our DACA and undocumented students with the resources they need to thrive. Tufts’ FIRST Resource Center serves as a source of advising, support, and community-building for students with undocumented status.

Statement on Racial Injustice

We take pride in a community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni dedicated to confronting injustices. Tufts Admissions supports high school and college students across the country and around the world speaking out against racism and violence against Black people and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Prospective students' participation in protests will not adversely impact them in our admissions process. We, the staff of the Tufts Office of Undergraduate Admissions, stand in solidarity with Black students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as Black prospective students, in condemning racial injustice. Black Lives Matter.
