About the Lab
In the RECCAP Lab, we focus on solving practical industrial problems through materials-enabled innovation. Our research investigates the fundamental interactions driving macroscopic behavior in polymer and composite systems, including liquid crystalline polymers and nano-filled polymer composites, to develop new material solutions for electronics packaging, energy storage, and structural/mechanical components. Utilizing a hybrid approach that combines novel formulations with process design and simulation, we seek to predict the evolution of material properties during manufacturing and manipulate this behavior to satisfy real-world applications. The RECCAP Lab specializes in advanced polymer and composite characterization, with leading expertise in liquid crystalline polymers, as well as materials manufacturing and process modeling.
