Biography
Chris Magnano earned his bachelor's in computer science and biology from Swarthmore College, and his master's in computer sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After working as a software developer for Epic Systems, he returned to UW-Madison and completed his PhD in Computer Sciences in 2022 under Anthony Gitter at the Morgridge Institute. Chris' research focuses on making computational analyses more accessible to biological researchers, both through augmenting biological network analyses and through improving computational education. Chris joined the Center for Computational Biomedicine at Harvard Medical School in 2022 as a Curriculum Fellow, where he further focused on computational education and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the classroom. In 2024 he joined the Tufts Department of Computer Science as an assistant teaching professor.
