Equipment & Capabilities
The TAMIC facility is equipped with two state-of-the-art Leica laser scanning confocal/multiphoton systems (TCS SP8) as well as a confocal Leica TCS SP2 microscope. The spectral imaging modalities covered by this suite of instruments include:
- Confocal reflectance & fluorescence
- Differential interference contrast (DIC)
- Two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF)
- Second harmonic generation (SHG)
- Coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS)
- Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)
Other features available for enhanced microscopic imaging include:
- Resonant scanning (16 kHz line scan; 28 frames/s for 512x512 frame)
- Dispersion compensation for multiphoton imaging
- HyD detectors (low-noise, high quantum yield PMT/avalanche photodiode hybrid)
- Image stitching, microplate imaging and adaptive focus
- Environmental chamber and automatic water dispenser for long-term & live cell studies
- Continuous zoom range of 0.75-48x
- Motorized stages (resolution=0.04µm, reproducibility<1µm)
