Expectations
To be successful in this program, we have outlined below what is expected of all ACE++ participants. By following these expectations, students can anticipate building positive skills and habits around studying, organization, connecting with faculty and professionals, completing coursework, learning to network, and fostering community within CS.
-
- Students are expected to be on campus for the entirety of the program, beginning the start of Summer Session 1 in May through the end of Summer Session 2 in August.
- Students must not hold an additional position/job, internship, or take additional classes. Students are welcome to speak with ACE++ staff to talk through concerns related to this.
-
- Students are expected to attend all class sessions for either their CS 11/15 course AND their CS 61 course. Depending on faculty availability, one of these courses may be virtual.
- Students are expected to attend all designated required weekly programming (i.e., Life Lessons, CS Enrichment, Side Quest Time, etc.) as outlined by program staff and communicated to students.
-
- Students are expected to communicate any missed absences – either related to preplanned travel, physical and mental well-being, or emergencies – to ACE++ program staff as soon as possible to be appropriately supported as they navigate the circumstances.
- Students are expected to proactively remain in communication with their assigned ACE++ staff member, including attending their bi-weekly check in.
