Biography
Derek Mess' research interests include materials development for energy, environmental, and aerospace applications; synthesis and processing of high temperature materials, including thermal barrier coating (TBC) and solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) ceramics; and fundamental gas-solid reactions associated with carbon dioxide capture.
