Current Students

Undergraduate

Of the 120 credits or more required for the professional degrees accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, a minimum of 30 credits must be completed in college level math and basic science subjects appropriate to the discipline and a minimum of 45 credits must be completed in engineering topics, consistent with ABET general and program criteria.

Fifth-Year Master's Degree Program

The School of Engineering offers exceptional Tufts undergraduate students the option of pursuing a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree (BS/MS) as a thesis or non-thesis program.

Master's

Upon matriculation, graduate students are assigned a faculty advisor who provides advice about registration for courses and program requirements. The interaction between the graduate student and a faculty member is one of the most significant aspects of a graduate student's time at Tufts.

PhD

The Tufts Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, the Department of Mechanical Engineering participates in two interdisciplinary Joint-PhD programs: One in Materials Science and Engineering and one in Human-Robot Interaction.
