The combination of strong programs in engineering foundations paired with programs aimed at improving the interaction of humans with technology — a pillar of excellence in the School of Engineering — provides the opportunity for offering unique degree programs in human-robot interaction. Our future-oriented programs are the first and thus one-of-a-kind among national and international research universities, and lays the foundation for future generations of researchers and practitioners working in all areas of robotics where robots have to interact with humans.
The HRI program has been defined at the intersection of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Students can enter the MS in HRI from any of these paths, each of which has its own requirements, as described on the MS in human-robot interaction (HRI) page.
