Biography

Dr. David Aurelio has focused his career on user research, user interface design, and usability evaluation. His domains have included consumer products, consumer electronics, medical products, automotive, and software design. Over his career, Dr. Aurelio worked at General Motors, Eastman Kodak, the American Institutes for Research, Bose Corporation, Oracle - Endeca, Autodesk, and Dassault Systemes - SolidWorks. In addition to his industrial and consulting work, he previously taught at Syracuse University as an adjunct assistant professor of Human Factors. His publications include 185 internal industry technical reports and 13 publications in journals and conference proceedings. He recently published a book entitled "Search Query Ambiguity: When lists are not enough." He has presented lectures on human factors, user interface design, and usability evaluation at Tufts University, Northeastern University, MIT, and the United States Military Academy. Dr. Aurelio received his Ph.D. degree in Human-Machine Systems from Northeastern University. He received an M.S. degree in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering (Ergonomics) from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. degree in Engineering Psychology from Tufts University.
