Biography

Dave Miller is currently an assistant teaching professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, teaching in the Human Factors Engineering and Human Factors Psychology program. His teaching is focused on research methods, human factors analysis of products and systems, industrial ergonomics, interface design, and the use of automation and AI. Currently, he directs the Human Factors Engineering graduate seminar series, and is one of the leads for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society BIPOC Affinity Group mentoring program.
He earned his doctorate in Communication Research from Stanford University (2020), where he studied human-computer moral conflict and the human factors challenges of interaction with partially-automated systems. Subsequently he taught at Cornell University and led research focused on enhancing reading performance at the University of Central Florida.
