Biography

Daniel Fox is an audio engineer, producer, educator, and consultant. He is the owner of Wondersmith Audio and his professional recording work can be heard on the Sub Pop, Warner Brothers, and Comedy Central labels and in hundreds of independent releases. Productions have been featured in the iTunes Top 10 charts and NPR's annual Best of list. Daniel has worked with artists and entities such as Lake Street Dive, Chucho Valdes, Ringo Starr, Audible, Discovery, Life is Good, Zach Sherwin, Debo Band, and Pepsi. He has been a Lecturer in Music Engineering at Tufts University since 2019. Daniel was the Director of Creative Media & Technology at the Boston based youth arts organization, ZUMIX, for 17 years. During this time ZUMIX was awarded the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the Obama Administration.

Daniel also consults for schools, non-profits, night clubs, and recording studios on facility construction, acoustics, audio systems, and program/curriculum design. He is a Certified Avid Pro Tools Instructor, expert level Reason Studios user and holds a BA in Sociology with a concentration in Race & Ethnicity from Vassar College. He is on the Educational Advisory Board for Sonarworks, Leapwing Audio, and several other audio software manufacturers.

Daniel serves as Co-Chair of the Audio Engineering Society, Boston Section. He has been a member for 16 years and presented at numerous AES events. He was Program Chair for the 2018 and 2019 AES High School Audio Educators Conferences, and currently serves on the Education as well as Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committees.
