Biography: 

As a certified human factors engineering professional (CHFP), Michael Wiklund has built a career conducting product research and design with a focus on medical technology. He founded and served as president of Wiklund Research and Design, Inc., which was acquired in 2012 by Underwriters Laboratories. Wiklund now serves as general manager of UL's human factors engineering practice, which helps medical, industrial, consumer, automotive, and software industry clients develop safe, effective and usable products.

Wiklund's affiliation with the Tufts Human Factors Engineering program is over 30 years long. He has authored and/or edited several important textbooks in the field, including Medical Device Error – Root Cause Analysis (2016), Usability and Testing of Medical Devices, second edition (2016), and Handbook of Human Factors in Medical Device Design (2010), as well as published numerous articles related to the design and improvement of medical devices.
