Biography
Dr. Jen specializes in the fields of geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, and numerical methods in geotechnical engineering. She has worked over 25 years as a geotechnical engineering consultant in Massachusetts working on projects in New England and New York. Her experience includes geotechnical site investigation, geotechnical site characterization, site history research, interpretation of geotechnical laboratory and field tests, field instrumentation, design and performance evaluation of deep excavations in soft clay, deep and shallow foundation design and construction monitoring, retaining wall design and assessment, slope stability, prediction of excavation-induced ground movements, and settlement analyses. Dr. Jen has been a part-time lecturer for over 20 years teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, soil behavior, and geotechnical engineering design. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Transportation with a focus in public transit planning and operations.
