Certificate

Certificate students at engineering site

Tufts' practice-oriented certificate programs consist of four or five graduate courses, primarily offered in the late afternoon or evening. Our graduate courses are taught by award-winning, tenured professors in Tufts School of Engineering, as well as by industry professionals. The certificate credits equal roughly half of the credits for a master's degree, and many credits will transfer to our graduate programs. All of our certificate programs can be taken on a part-time basis.

Civil and Environmental Engineering

A series of advanced certificate programs in Civil and Environmental Engineering is offered, on a part-time or full-time basis, to qualified students seeking professional training. The certificate program for each student is individualized, so that many different focus areas in Civil and Environmental Engineering can be accommodated. This four-course graduate-level program will update your skills and broaden your knowledge in Civil and Environmental Engineering, through a "design your own specialty certificate" taught by Tufts' renowned faculty.

Environmental Management

The Environmental Management certificate program provides students with the tools and techniques they need to understand the complex issues of future environmental management. The program blends courses in fundamentals such as regulations and compliance issues, with leading edge concepts in life-cycle analysis, risk management, and remediation technologies. Students must complete five courses, including one course in each of three focus areas: environmental engineering and technology, environmental health, and policy. The two remaining courses can be selected from any of the focus areas.

Offshore Wind Energy Engineering

The post-baccalaureate program in Offshore Wind Energy Engineering provides a pathway for students from other disciplines to pursue the MS and/or PhD degree program at Tufts. Students enroll in graduate-level courses alongside other engineering students to learn the core concepts of the industry. Credits earned may be transferred to the MS and/or PhD program in Offshore Wind Energy Engineering at Tufts.
