David Rosowsky

David V. Rosowsky, E85, EG87, is the Senior Advisor to President Michael Crow at Arizona State University and a nationally recognized leader in higher education innovation. Rosowsky brings more than 30 years of senior university leadership experience and currently works on institutional design strategies for the “New American University.” Prior to joining ASU, Rosowsky served as Vice President for Research at Kansas State University and as senior vice president and provost at University of Vermont. He previously served as dean of engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and as head of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University.

An accomplished scholar, Rosowsky has authored more than 300 publications and received numerous honors, including the ASCE Norman Medal and the ASCE Walter L. Huber Research Prize. Rosowsky has written extensively on the challenges and opportunities facing public research universities in the post-pandemic and multi-crisis eras. His writing on the future of higher education has appeared in publications including Forbes, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Inside Higher Ed. 

He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Tufts University and holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.
