Order of the Engineer

Order of the Engineer logo

Students gather each spring to join the Order of the Engineer a national association of professionals dedicated to the ethical practice of engineering. Inductees pledge to uphold the highest standards of the engineering profession. Recite the Engineer's Obligation with your classmates and join a community dedicated to responsible engineering. You must attend the ceremony in person and take the oath to be officially inducted into The Order.

The Order of the Engineer eligibility criteria allow seniors in the following programs to join: BSBME, BSCHE, BSCE, BSEVE, BSEE, BSCPE, and BSME

Graduate students in the following departments are eligible to join: BME, ChBE, CEE, ECE, and ME. Inductees receive an Order of the Engineer stainless steel ring and certificate. Contact ooe@tufts.edu if you have any questions.

Graduate students interested in the Order of Engineer who have undergraduate degrees in an engineering discipline should complete this form and reach out to Melissa Leach at ooe@tufts.edu to discuss the eligibility criteria.
