We recognize that attending graduate school involves a significant financial investment. That is why Tufts School of Engineering is pleased to offer the following scholarships to qualified applicants.

    • If you are eligible, these benefits will then be applied automatically to your application.
  • Ready to take the next step in your career? Return to Tufts School of Engineering and earn your MS degree at a reduced tuition rate. Alumni are eligible for double and triple jumbo scholarships with benefits that include:

    • up to a 20% discount on tuition
    • waived graduate application fees
    • waived GRE scores
    • only submitting 2 letters of recommendation

    Double Jumbo Alumni Scholarship*
    Alumni who have earned a baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degree from Tufts University and are newly enrolling in a School of Engineering MS degree or graduate certificate program beginning in the Fall of 2020 or later may be eligible for a 20% tuition reduction. There is no time limit regarding the number of years since graduation. Current TEEP, BS/MS, and full-time PhD students are excluded from scholarship. This discount/scholarship cannot be combined with any other discount or scholarships without advance permission from the School of Engineering Dean of Graduate Education and applies to the School of Engineering programs only.

    *For programs billed by the semester there is a $10,000 scholarship applied as $5,000 in semester 1 and $5,000 in semester 2. For programs that bill by credit, it is a 20% discount off per credit tuition over the duration of the program.

    Triple Jumbo Alumni Scholarship (BA or BS + MSIM/MSx)
    Alumni who enroll in the dual MS Innovation and Management + MS in Engineering (choose a discipline offered by an Engineering department) are eligible to receive the Double Jumbo Alumni Scholarship in year 1 of study followed by the Dual Degree (MSIM + MS in Engineering) Scholarship in year 2 (see below under "Other Scholarships" for more information regarding how it is applied). Please note that the dual degree program is only available to students in on-campus degree programs.

    Triple Jumbo Combined Scholarship (BS/MSx/MSIM)
    Students who are enrolled in the combined BS/MS program who continue as a dual degree graduate student are eligible to combine the BS/MS scholarship and Dual Degree (MSIM + MS in Engineering) scholarships -- reducing tuition by $15,000 in year 1 of graduate studies and $20,000 in year 2 of graduate studies. Please note that the dual degree program is only available to students in on-campus degree programs.

  • Tufts School of Engineering offers undergraduates and alumni from select institutions (Lafayette College, Olin College, Smith College, Union College, and Wellesley College) an accelerated path to a master’s degree. The MS Bridge Program makes it easier and more affordable to earn a master's degree in a wide variety of Tufts engineering programs. Benefits include:

    • a 20% tuition scholarship to be applied in equal installments during the two semesters of enrollment
    • the opportunity to earn a non-thesis based single master's degree in just one year
    • streamlined application process with no application fee, only two letters of recommendation, and optional GRE score submission
    • students who do take the GRE and receive quantitative scores of 164 or higher will receive an additional $1,000 merit scholarship

    MS degree seeking students*
    All students and alumni from participating universities in the MS Bridge program will receive a 20% tuition scholarship to be applied in equal installments during the two semesters of enrollment. Students who stay beyond two semesters, such as those pursuing a thesis-track MS degree, will pay a continuation fee, which is currently $950 per additional semester.

    Dual MS degree seeking students*
    (MS in Innovation and Management + MS in Engineering)

    Students enrolling in the Dual Degree Program will receive a 20% tuition scholarship applied in equal installments during the first two semesters of enrollment. An additional $20,000 tuition discount to be applied in two $10,000 installments during their third and fourth semesters of enrollment.

    *Bridge students are defined as individuals who are current students or alumni of partner institutions. There is no time limit on years since graduation. This discount cannot be combined with any other discount or scholarship without advance permission from the School of Engineering Dean for Graduate Education.

  • MS in Engineering Management Scholarships
    Tufts Gordon Institute awards tuition scholarships to both U.S. citizens/permanent residents and non-U.S. citizens. Scholarships typically range from $5,000 – $15,000 off the total tuition. Recipients will be notified of the amount of their award at the time of acceptance.

    Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. Merit is assessed through the application for admission. To be considered for a tuition scholarship, applicants must fill out the financial aid section of the online application. We strongly encourage applicants who want to be considered for a Gordon Institute scholarship to complete their application for admission along with the financial aid application by the Round 2 application deadline.

    MS in Innovation and Management Scholarships
    Tufts Gordon Institute awards tuition scholarships to both U.S. citizens/permanent residents and non-U.S. citizens. Scholarships typically range from $5,000 – $15,000 off the total tuition. Recipients will be notified of the amount of their award at the time of acceptance. These scholarships are one-time, non-renewable awards with the funds split across the terms of the student’s enrollment in the program.

    Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. Merit is assessed through the application for admission. To be considered for a tuition scholarship, applicants must fill out the financial aid section of the online application. We strongly encourage applicants who want to be considered for a Gordon Institute scholarship to complete their application for admission along with the financial aid application by the Round 2 application deadline.

  • Combined BS/MS Scholarship (current Tufts undergraduates)
    This scholarship allows current Tufts undergraduates to apply some courses taken as undergraduates toward their full-time master’s program requirements and may provide a tuition discount of up to $15,000. The BS/MS combined degree tuition discount cannot be combined with any other scholarships or discounts with the exception of the Fast-Trac Scholarship Program.  Please speak with Graduate Admissions for more details.

    Dual Degree Scholarship (MSIM + MS in Engineering)
    Students can add a technical M.S. in Engineering degree to the MSIM program through our Dual Degree Option.  You earn both degrees in an accelerated timeframe and at a reduced cost. You receive a guaranteed $10,000 per semester tuition discount in fall and spring semesters of your second year of study, giving you a $20,000 total reduction in the tuition cost for both degrees.

    Yellow Ribbon Scholarships
    The current Yellow Ribbon Scholarship award at Tufts is $5,000 annually for students enrolled in the Friedman School, the Fletcher School, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Engineering.
