Computer science networking event a success

Computer science alumni, seniors, faculty, and staff network at annual event.
A snowy building

In early April, the Department of Computer Science's annual senior and alumni event was a big success. Almost 150 people joined the department for the event, held at Meadhall in Cambridge. Seventy-six alumni attended, from graduating classes ranging from 1983 to 2018, with 75 seniors and graduate students, and 10 faculty and staff members.

The evening started at 7:00 PM and was still going strong well after the official end time at 9:00 PM. Conversational snippets overhead ranged from “Where do you work now?” to “Do you have a job yet? Maybe I can help, I know someone that works there,” to questions and comments like, “Who is teaching Comp 40 and Comp 105 next year?”,  “Are there new professors?”,  “Yes, we should definitely get together more often it’s so nice to see old friends,” and “It’s great that the department hosts this event!”

The next opportunity for computer science alumni to gather with fellow alumni, students, staff, and faculty will be at the department's annual end-of-the-year celebration. Computer science alumni are invited to join the department for food, drink, camaraderie, and Professor and Chair Kathleen Fisher’s announcements of this year’s departmental awards and other updates on the exciting things happening in the Tufts CS community.
