Hooper honored by AGU

Research Professor Richard Hooper receives the 2018 Edward A. Flinn III Award.

Research Professor Richard Hooper, of the Tufts University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was recently recognized by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) as the 2018 recipient of the Edward A. Flinn III Award.

Awarded annually to an "individual or small group who personifies the Union’s motto ‘unselfish cooperation in research’ through their facilitating, coordinating, and implementing activities,” the award honors the unsung heroes who build and maintain the infrastructure upon which science functions. Hooper's research areas include water informatics, hillslope hydrology and catchment biogeochemistry, information systems, and community-based research infrastructure.

The American Geophysical Union is an organization of geophysicists with more than 62,000 members from 144 countries.
