Social Media Challenge

How to Participate

  • Snap a photo of yourself with a Tufts School of Engineering advertisement or billboard (selfies encouraged!).
    • Not near a billboard? No problem! A Tufts-themed selfie taken anywhere in the world counts too!
  • Post your photo on Instagram, X, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
    • Use the hashtag #TuftsSOEChallenge
    • Tag @TuftsEngineer
  • Email us at engineer@tufts.edu with the subject line “Tufts SOE Selfie Challenge.”
    • Include your name, mailing address, and t-shirt size
    • Attach the same photo you shared on social media
  • Get featured! We’ll highlight community photos on Tufts Engineering’s social media — and send your Tufts SOE t-shirt to your preferred address.

Rules

  1. Take a selfie in front of any Tufts School of Engineering advertisement or billboard.
  2. Use the hashtag #TuftsSOEChallenge when you post your photo.
  3. Tag @TuftsEngineer in your post.
  4. Email must contain your name, mailing address, t-shirt size and the same photo you shared on social media.
  5. Photos must be safe, appropriate, and taken respectfully in public spaces.
  6. Every participant who follows the steps above has a chance to receive a free Tufts SOE t-shirt.
  7. The challenge runs through November 30, 2025, so get your photo in before the deadline!

* Most importantly we want to encourage all of our participants to stay safe while taking their selfies. Always be aware of your surroundings to keep yourself and others safe at all times. We look forward to seeing your submissions!

You acknowledge that by submitting your photo for this contest, you automatically grant us permission to post it on other Tufts social media accounts, webpages, and other advertising outlets. Please see additional image authorization details below.

I hereby grant to Tufts University, its officers and employees (collectively referred to herein as the “University”) and its agents and assigns the worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable right to: (1) photograph, videotape or otherwise record or capture the image, likeness and/or the voice the undersigned (collectively, the “Materials”); and (2) reproduce, distribute, display, create derivative works of and otherwise use the Materials and the undersigned’s name, photograph, image, likeness and voice for and in connection with the University’s educational, research, public relations, publicity, promotional, fundraising and recruitment purposes, for all but third party commercial purposes, by any means, methods and media (print and electronic) now known or in the future developed that the University deems appropriate.

I make this grant of rights with the understanding that no compensation will be paid to me by the University for such grant.  I understand and agree that all right, title and interest, including copyrights, in the materials created by the University pursuant to this agreement are the exclusive property of the University and that I will obtain no rights in such materials.  I also understand that the University is not actually required to use my name, photograph, image, likeness or voice recording in any way, and the University may use my photograph, image, likeness or voice recording without identifying such Materials with my name or making any attribution to me. This agreement will be governed by the laws of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and represents the final and exclusive agreement between the University and me on this subject.
