The newest makerspace facility at Tufts is bringing together students and faculty to design and build all sorts of creations.
The Nolop Fast Lab is a makerspace open to all students at Tufts University. Nolop allows students to build and create, fostering hands-on learning and ideation. Nolop helps students push themselves outside their comfort zones and transform and test their ideas into reality. The lab has every tool imaginable along with a student and student workers to assist students learn and experiment.
Nolop FAST Facility Makerspace is a creative space for everyone at Tufts University. Staff help students build cool stuff by providing a large collection of well-maintained tools, training students to use those tools safely, and nourishing a community of makers. Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary.
Thanks to Nolop Fast Facility’s hands-on learning environment, seniors in Design for Fabrication (ME 93) constructed their final project: a pedal-powered railway.
“This course leaves graduating students with an important lesson: outside of college, what matters most is working together and having fun through challenges,” said Brandon Stafford, part-time lecturer and director of the Nolop Makerspace.
